En Hotel Kyoto, Kyoto

The hotel's location was perfect and convenient, just a short walk from the train station and close to restaurants and shopping. The rooms were on the old side, very small, and got stuffy quickly due to the air conditioner needing cleaning. The high step into the capsule-type bathroom and the small size would have been challenging for two guests with suitcases.

I ended up booking this hotel for $294 as there were no other options available and I really wanted to stay in Kyoto that weekend. The room was clean and comfortable despite a high step that made it a bit challenging. The service was friendly and helpful, although I noticed they should pay more attention to cleaning as there was dust and mold. The location was perfect, near bus and train stations with easy access to most places in Kyoto. The dining experience offered a mix of Western and Japanese cuisine, but some dishes had no taste. Overall, the hotel provided a good stay with a few minor issues to consider.
